Our 100+ year old cast iron bath tube was severely stained from iron and minerals in our water. It also had pits, deep scouring ruts and the entire surface felt like gritty sandpaper. After having a fiberglass tub incorrectly installed by a fly-by-night home remodeler, the tub began to fail and crack. Estimates to correct were $3000+.
